The Doors' final album and a posthumous collaboration with Jim Morrison, An American Prayer sets the surviving band's newly recorded music beneath Morrison's poetry, taped between 1969 and 1970. The collage weaves in spoken word, dialogue from Morrison's film HWY: An American Pastoral, and a composite live version of 'Roadhouse Blues' spliced together from the band's 1970 tour. The result is a haunting, one-of-a-kind document of Morrison the poet.
