Recorded in 1961, this set finds St. Louis tenor man Jimmy Forrest — a veteran of the Jay McShann, Andy Kirk, and Duke Ellington bands — leading a quartet through a full gamut of moods, from the burning "Crash Program" to the caressing "That's All," backed by a young Joe Zawinul (piano), Tommy Potter (bass), and Clarence Johnston (drums).
