John Coltrane - Blue World - LP

Previously Unreleased 1964 Recordings, Mastered from Original Analog Tape

In 1964, the National Film Board of Canada asked John Coltrane to record the soundtrack for the French-language film Le Chat Dans Le Sac (The Cat in the Bag). That June, Coltrane's Classic Quartet entered Rudy Van Gelder's studio and recorded new versions of five previously recorded Coltrane originals, music that went largely unrecognized for decades. Released in 2019 as Blue World, these newly discovered recordings, taped between Crescent and A Love Supreme, can finally be heard for the first time.
