Recorded at the world-famous Ardent Studios in Memphis, Freeze was the immediate follow-up to Junie Morrison's solo debut after he left the Ohio Players. The keyboard and vocal wizard plays every instrument here, from a traditional rhythm section to a barrage of the latest synthesizer technology, resulting in an avant-funk masterpiece that ranges from the sublime "Not As Good As You Should" to the wild "Granny's Funky Rolls Royce." Junie would go on to join Funkadelic and originate their hit "One Nation Under A Groove." Reissued in a facsimile of its original cover.
