Originally released in 1973, Bananamour was Kevin Ayers' final album for EMI's Harvest label during his first tenure there, recorded with a band including Archie Leggett on bass and Eddie Sparrow on drums, with contributions from Robert Wyatt, Steve Hillage, and Mike Ratledge. It features such fan favorites as "Decadence" (an ode to Nico), "Oh! Wot a Dream" (a tribute to Syd Barrett), "Interview," and "Shouting in a Bucket Blues," and is regarded as one of his finest works.
