For most, a brush with death would mean retreat — but Seattle's La Luz found resilience in it. Having survived a high-speed highway collision shortly after their 2013 debut It's Alive, the band returned to relentless touring and channeled that restless live energy into their second album. Recorded mostly live at a San Dimas surf shop with producer Ty Segall, Weirdo Shrine leaves in the happy accidents and spur-of-the-moment flourishes, capturing the band at full crackle.
