Lenny Kravitz's 1989 debut, Let Love Rule, marks its 30th anniversary on 180-gram black vinyl. The album established the template for Kravitz's exploratory artistry, from the elegiac build of the title track to the pointed social commentary of "Mr. Cab Driver." Aside from lyrics co-written with then-wife Lisa Bonet on "Fear" and "Rosemary," it is virtually a one-man show: Kravitz wrote and produced every song and played nearly all the instruments. The record is featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
