Recorded in 2007 and entirely improvised, Spontaneous Combustion captures Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy and Jordan Rudess alongside King Crimson bassist Tony Levin. It was originally set to be the third Liquid Tension Experiment album, but when guitarist John Petrucci's wife suddenly went into labor, the remaining members soldiered on to record this adventurous session — available on vinyl for the first time ever.
