Deluxe Edition, 2LP + Bonus 7"
The inaugural release in Light in the Attic's Lou Reed Archive Series, produced in cooperation with Laurie Anderson, presents a previously unreleased tape of songs the young Lou Reed recorded with future Velvet Underground bandmate John Cale and mailed to himself as a "poor man's copyright." Sealed in its original envelope for nearly 50 years, these May 1965 demos capture Reed in his formative, folk-rooted years, with embryonic versions of future classics including "Heroin," "I'm Waiting for the Man," and "Pale Blue Eyes." This deluxe edition expands the collection with additional home recordings and rehearsals.
