To make Double Negative, Low reenlisted producer B.J. Burton, working largely at Bon Iver's April Base studio. Sparhawk, Parker, and bassist Steve Garrington pushed their sound through distortion and digital decay, burying their signature harmonies beneath squall and static. The result is one of the band's most daring and acclaimed records.
