Three-time Grammy winner Lucinda Williams unabashedly takes on some of the human, social and political issues of our day with her boldest and most direct album to date. Forgoing the personal, narrative-based songcraft synonymous with her name, Williams instead speaks to the injustices permeating our society. She's backed by her remarkable longtime band — Butch Norton (drums), Stuart Mathis (guitar) and David Sutton (bass) — and co-produced the album with husband/manager Tom Overby and Ray Kennedy, who last worked with her on 1998's landmark Car Wheels on a Gravel Road.
