200 Gram Super-Heavyweight Vinyl, Cut From the Original Masters
The eponymous 1970 album from Ian McDonald and Michael Giles, recorded as a duo (with Michael's brother Peter on bass) after the pair left King Crimson in December 1969. A minor classic of the late British Underground era, it trades Crimson's intensity for a gentler, more wistful and autumnal sound, with full string and brass arrangements and a guest piano/organ solo from Steve Winwood. This official release is pressed on 200-gram super-heavyweight vinyl at The Vinyl Factory and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering — the first time the album has been cut from the original masters since 1970.
