180 Gram Vinyl — Mastered at Bernie Grundman Studios

Bopping the Blues documents one of Miles Davis' earliest recording sessions, a 1946 date that captures the first known instance of the trumpeter playing in his famed "open" style — alongside tenor saxophonist Gene Ammons and drummer Art Blakey, supporting singers Earl Coleman and Ann Baker. Originally issued by the U.K. label Black Lion, this historically vital bop session has been given the full audiophile treatment. Mastered from the original master tapes at Bernie Grundman Studios, cut by Chris Bellman and pressed at Pallas, with sound consultation by Steve Hoffman.
