Milestones is the only studio album Miles Davis recorded with his original sextet, pairing Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane with the rhythm section of Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. A 1958 modern-jazz landmark, it laid the groundwork for the modal approach that would soon follow on Kind of Blue. This Mobile Fidelity hybrid SACD is mastered from the original master tapes and restored to mono.
