The SourcePoint 8 is Andrew Jones’ answer to everyone who fell for the SourcePoint 10 and could not make it work at home. As he put it: “Everyone who hears and loves the sound of the 10-inch, but can’t fit them in their room, now has that sonic quality available in a much smaller package.” The design keeps the same acoustic principles in a smaller cabinet, and it holds onto the detail and cleanliness of the bigger speaker while still sounding rich rather than thin.

At its center is a custom 8-inch concentric driver with a 1.25-inch wide-roll soft-dome tweeter mounted at its acoustic center, making the whole speaker a genuine point source: imaging and tonal balance stay locked in place instead of shifting with frequency. The Twin-Drive high-flux neodymium magnet system creates a symmetrical magnetic field that minimizes intermodulation distortion, and the sculpted multi-faceted baffle eliminates diffraction so you hear the driver rather than the cabinet’s edges.

Finishes are furniture-grade real wood veneer with book-matched grain in Satin Walnut and Satin Black Ash, plus a painted Satin White. Backed by five years parts and labor. Note the cabinet is rear-ported, so allow meaningful clearance behind it.

The stands are not generic. MoFi custom-designed them specifically for the SourcePoint 8, built from rugged steel for stability and vibration resistance, with a 10-1/16″ square top plate sized to the speaker’s footprint and a wider base for a stable stance. At 22-9/16″ they are taller than the SourcePoint 10’s stands, which is deliberate: the smaller cabinet needs more lift to put the concentric driver on the same listening axis.
