Like the standard Super HeavyWeight, the Champion was developed in collaboration with Mike Latvis of Harmonic Resolution Systems, specifically for use with mid- to high-mass turntable platters. What sets it apart is the material at its core — a proprietary ultra-dense, precision-molded polymer created for exceptional noise-absorption characteristics — and the extra mass wrapped around it. Precision transfer molding keeps the assembly accurately aligned and balanced so the added weight never becomes a source of wobble.

At 495.1 grams it is intended for platters of roughly 5 lbs and up, where there is enough platter beneath the record to make the heavier coupling worthwhile. Worth checking against your own deck before ordering: MoFi’s own UltraDeck qualifies comfortably at 6.8 lbs, while the StudioDeck’s 3.88 lb platter falls below the threshold and suits the standard Super HeavyWeight instead.

The weight locks the LP to the platter and drains groove, motor and bearing noise out of the system, which MoFi describes as delivering blacker backgrounds, improved clarity, enhanced microdynamics and greater bass impact. Construction is a machined billet 6061 aluminum outer shell with a black anodized top cap carrying a laser-etched MoFi logo, and a soft polymer underside that protects record labels. The universal non-threaded design simply drops over the spindle and is easy to grip and lift.
