140 Gram Colored Vinyl (Orange), Gatefold 2LP, UK Import
50th Anniversary remastered edition of Mott the Hoople's classic fifth studio album, produced by David Bowie. Released in the UK on 8 September 1972, its Bowie-penned title track became the band's highest-charting hit single. Alongside a definitive cover of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane," the suggestive "Momma's Little Jewel," the Stones-styled "Jerkin' Crocus" and Mick Ralphs' heartfelt "Ready For Love," the album has been called the ultimate document of its era. Cited as an inspiration by Queen, The Clash, Kiss, Motley Crue, Cheap Trick and Def Leppard, it still excites and resonates decades later.
