New Order formed in Manchester in 1980, rising from the ashes of Joy Division with guitarist Bernard Sumner taking over on vocals alongside drummer Stephen Morris, bassist Peter Hook, and keyboardist Gillian Gilbert. 1986's Brotherhood finds the band in semi-concept territory, pairing a guitar-driven rock side with a dance side, and features some of the finest production and most emotional songwriting of their career, including the brilliant single "Bizarre Love Triangle" plus fan favorites "Weirdo" and "All Day Long."
