One of the first Broadway scores to be overtly jazz-influenced, Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story gets the light-swing signature treatment from pianist Oscar Peterson. Recorded in 1962 with bassist Ray Brown, harmonica master Toots Thielemans and drummer Ed Thigpen, Peterson's interpretation was hailed by one critic as "a delight to hear again" and earned him a Grammy nomination.
