Pfeiffer, Chase & Heifetz - Rozsa: Violin Concerto/ Benjamin: Romantic Fantasy/ Heifetz, violin - Analogue Productions LP
RCA Living Stereo — 200-Gram Vinyl, Remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound
A showcase for the incomparable Jascha Heifetz in two twentieth-century works written with his artistry in mind. Side one features Miklos Rozsa's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 24 — a richly Romantic, Hungarian-flavored score the film composer wrote expressly for Heifetz — with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under Walter Hendl. Side two presents Arthur Benjamin's Romantic Fantasy for violin, viola and orchestra, pairing Heifetz with violist William Primrose and the RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra under Izler Solomon. Remastered from the original 2-track master tape and pressed on dead-quiet 200-gram vinyl at QRP.
