Animals is the tenth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in January 1977. A concept album offering a scathing critique of the social and political conditions of late-1970s Britain, it marked a notable change in musical style from the band's earlier work. Recorded at the band's own Britannia Row studio in London, the album reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart and #3 on the US Billboard 200. Its iconic cover, a pig floating between the chimneys of Battersea Power Station, was conceived by Roger Waters and designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis.
