Booker Ervin - Tex Book Tenor - Tone Poet LP
$38.99
180g Vinyl LP, Blue Note Tone Poet Audiophile Reissue Series, Mastered by Kevin Gray from Original Analog Tapes, Pressed at RTI
Booker Ervin cut two stellar Blue Note records in the late 1960s, including Tex Book Tenor, which waited until 2005 for its first release. Backed by a quintet of Woody Shaw (trumpet), Kenny Barron (piano), Jan Arnet (bass) and Billy Higgins (drums), the Texas-born saxophonist slices through a set of captivating bandmember originals. This Tone Poet edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.
