Clifford Jordan - Cliff Jordan - Tone Poet LP
$38.99
180g Mono Vinyl LP — Tone Poet Audiophile Reissue, Mastered by Kevin Gray
The under-recognized tenor saxophonist Clifford Jordan blew in from Chicago in 1957 and recorded a trio of excellent Blue Note sessions over a prolific eight-month span, including the self-titled Cliff Jordan. His second date for the label is a generous serving of smoldering bop featuring a robust septet with Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, John Jenkins on alto sax, Ray Bryant on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Art Taylor on drums. This mono Tone Poet edition was mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI.
