Plans is the fifth studio album by indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie, originally released August 30, 2005 on Atlantic Records. The album spawned three singles — "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth" and "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" — with all three charting. "Soul Meets Body" and "Crooked Teeth" reached No. 5 and No. 10 respectively on the U.S. Alternative Songs chart, while guitarist Chris Walla's production gave the band's move to a major label a warmth and detail that still rewards a good system.

"I Will Follow You Into The Dark" went on to become Death Cab for Cutie's best-selling single and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Plans peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, was certified platinum by the RIAA on February 28, 2008, and was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 48th Grammy Awards.
