Ella Fitzgerald & Oscar Peterson - Ella and Oscar - Analogue Productions Pablo LP
180 Gram Vinyl, Mastered from the Original Analog Master Tape, Pressed at QRP
Recorded May 19, 1975, Ella and Oscar pairs two of jazz's most historic figures — vocalist Ella Fitzgerald and pianist Oscar Peterson — in an intimate duo setting. Bassist Ray Brown, closely associated with both artists, joins on four tracks, but the focus stays squarely on voice and piano across a program of Great American Songbook standards. Most tracks are under five minutes; only the closing "April in Paris" stretches out, with a relaxed, swinging Peterson solo and remarkably expressive scatting from Fitzgerald. This Analogue Productions reissue was mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from the original analog master tape, pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a Stoughton Printing tip-on single pocket jacket.
