Chess sides from 1953 and 1960 pairing slide-guitar giant Elmore James with John Brim, remastered all-analog for the Chess Records Acoustic Sounds Series.
Whose Muddy Shoes gathers rare Chess and Checker sessions split between Elmore James — whose amplified slide on "Dust My Broom" and "Madison Blues" set the template for generations of blues and rock guitarists — and the underrated John Brim, several of whose tracks feature harmonica virtuoso Little Walter. This audiophile reissue is part of the Chess Records 75th Anniversary Acoustic Sounds Series, mastered all-analog by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings.
