Geri Allen Trio - Twenty One - Blue Note Classic LP
Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series — 180g Double LP, Mastered by Kevin Gray, Pressed at Optimal
Pianist and composer Geri Allen came out of Detroit's fertile jazz scene and became part of the M-Base collective forging new approaches to jazz in the 1980s. For her third Blue Note album, Twenty One, recorded in 1994, Allen joined two masters — bassist Ron Carter and drummer Tony Williams — for a dynamic trio date. Her stunning lyricism and boundless harmonic and rhythmic creativity shine across a twelve-song set of compelling originals, choice standards, and Thelonious Monk material. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is mastered by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
