Harold Land's hard bop album The Fox was originally released in 1960, with Contemporary Records reissuing it in 1969. Recorded in Los Angeles in 1959, it features Harold Land (tenor sax), Dupree Bolton (trumpet), Elmo Hope (piano), Herbie Lewis (bass), and Frank Butler (drums), and was produced by David Axelrod. This edition, part of the Acoustic Sounds Series, features (AAA) lacquers cut from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at QRP and presented in a tip-on jacket.
