Jerry Garcia Band - Cats Under The Stars - LP
$24.99
140g Black Vinyl, 1LP
Cats Under The Stars was the first album presented as the Jerry Garcia Band, a lineup that paired Garcia with John Kahn and several of his Grateful Dead bandmates. It marked a clean break from the covers-heavy sets that came before: an all-new repertoire of originals written with Robert Hunter, cut in the studio Garcia had just built. The record carries the songs Deadheads have kept close ever since — "Rubin and Cherise," "Gomorrah," "Palm Sunday" and the title track — in the loose, soulful groove that defined Garcia's work outside the Dead. Long a personal favorite of Garcia's own, it has aged into one of the most quietly beloved entries in his catalog.
