180g Vinyl, AAA, Numbered Limited Edition Gatefold LP

John Coltrane's final album for Atlantic finds him charting his own course alongside an extraordinary band. Recorded in 1961 concurrently with his Impulse! debut Africa/Brass, Olé Coltrane explores knotty rhythmic shifts and Spanish-derived textures with pianist McCoy Tyner, drummer Elvin Jones, and an uncredited Eric Dolphy (listed as "George Lane"). A highlight is the dueling double-bass interplay between Art Davis and Reggie Workman. This Rhino High Fidelity reissue was cut AAA from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray.
