A historical document: the last LP recorded by Lester "Prez" Young, cut March 4, 1959 at Studio Barclay in Paris just days before his death, with an added 10" containing his final studio track. Backed by René Urtreger (piano), Jimmy Gourley (guitar), Jamil Nasser (bass), and Kenny Clarke (drums), the session is poignant and moving — Young is reduced, but the grace and genius are still there. The bonus 10" captures his very last recording, a version of "D.B. Blues" cut March 11, 1959 for French radio.
