Pat Metheny's first studio recording as a leader, Bright Size Life announced a fresh new voice in contemporary jazz. Recorded in Ludwigsburg in December 1975 and produced by Manfred Eicher, it features Metheny's touring band of the day — Bob Moses on drums and the virtuosic, then-largely-unknown Jaco Pastorius on bass guitar. This reissue appears in ECM's audiophile Luminessence vinyl series.
