Good Old Boys is the fourth studio album by Randy Newman, originally released in 1974, and his first to achieve major commercial success, peaking at #36 on the Billboard 200. Initially envisioned as a concept album about a Deep South everyman named Johnny Cutler, it addresses taboo subjects such as slavery and racism, most sharply on the opening track "Rednecks." This deluxe edition pairs the remastered album with Newman's original 1973 demo recordings and additional material.
