Rega - Brio Mk7 Integrated Amplifier

50 watts, a moving magnet phono stage and a Rega-designed DAC with coaxial and optical inputs — in a half-width case.

The Brio Mk7 is the model where Rega adds digital. It carries a Rega-designed onboard DAC with two S/PDIF inputs — isolated coaxial at 0.5V into 75 ohms, and Toslink optical — handling sample rates from 32kHz all the way to 192kHz. That single addition is the main reason to step up from the io.

Power rises to 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms and, usefully, Rega publishes a 4-ohm figure too: 72 watts. Only a minority of Rega integrateds get a published 4-ohm rating, so if you own a demanding pair of speakers this is worth knowing.

The integrated phono stage is moving magnet. There are three line inputs, an onboard headphone socket with a dedicated circuit, and a custom mini system remote. Distortion is typically 0.005% at 1kHz, A-weighted.

It comes in Rega’s custom half-width aluminium case at 4.9kg, with short-circuit protection, a thermal cut-out and auto standby.
