One of Sun Ra's rarest and most elusive releases, When Angels Speak of Love was recorded in 1963 at the Choreographers' Workshop and originally issued in a tiny Saturn pressing. The stargazing clamor of the music established the Arkestra as a New York band, sonically coupled to the downtown avant-garde. This reissue draws on the original master tapes to present the Arkestra in its cosmic mid-'60s prime.
