Something Else is the first of two full-length offerings from The Brian Jonestown Massacre released in 2018, and the band's seventeenth full-length overall. A less experimental departure recorded between 2017 and 2018, it finds the Anton Newcombe-led outfit revisiting their more traditional, drone-laden psychedelic roots. The set opens with "Hold That Thought," a reflective acoustic psych number driven by pounding drums.
