The J. Geils Band - The J. Geils Band - Speakers Corner LP
180 Gram Vinyl, Speakers Corner Reissue Remastered From the Master Tapes
In the wake of Woodstock, J. Geils found his musical niche, cutting loose with his sextet to create brash, extroverted rock. The amalgamation of authentic blues and showy rock 'n' roll, fed by a fervid veneration of blues greats like Muddy Waters, Junior Wells and Chuck Berry, was so compelling the band could easily have passed as a veteran outfit twice their age. Originally released on Atlantic in 1970, the band's self-titled debut features Geils (guitar), Peter Wolf (vocals), Seth Justman (organ, piano), Danny Klein (bass), Magic Dick (harp) and Stephen Bladd (drums, vocals), mixing covers of John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush and Albert Collins with originals like "Wait" and "Hard Drivin' Man." This Speakers Corner edition was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
