It upgrades to a massive 1.4 kg, 22mm-thick die-cast aluminum platter and adds the Thorens TP 150 tonearm — the same arm used on the TD 1500 — with height (VTA) and azimuth adjustability plus a detachable SME headshell for easy cartridge swaps.

A factory-fitted Ortofon 2M Blue with nude elliptical stylus comes pre-adjusted from the start, so it's ready to play out of the box while still leaving plenty of room to grow: swap headshells in seconds, dial in a different cartridge whenever the upgrade itch strikes.
