Only five days after releasing Outer Peace, Chaz Bear (Toro y Moi) posted a photo of a cassette titled "SOUL TRASH V1" on Instagram with a Dropbox link to what appeared to be a mixtape. The post and link were soon taken down, and Soul Trash was released digitally on October 29, 2019. Five years later, the mixtape gets its first-ever vinyl pressing, featuring ambient sounds, lo-fi loops and contributions from Old Grape God and Caleon Fox.
