Back To Oakland was the fourth album by Bay Area funk powerhouse Tower of Power, released in spring 1974. Many critics rate it even higher than its gold-certified predecessor, with tougher, funkier production, stronger vocals from Lenny Williams and the unmistakable Tower of Power horn section in full flight. It pairs the ballad Time Will Tell with the rousing Don't Change Horses, and was voted by Modern Drummer magazine as one of the most important recordings for drummers to study.
