The Magician's Birthday is the fifth studio album by British rock band Uriah Heep, originally released in November 1972 by Bronze Records in the UK and Mercury Records in the US. The album's concept was based loosely on a short story written by keyboardist Ken Hensley, and showcases the band's signature blend of hard rock, prog, and fantasy. Lineup: David Byron (lead vocals), Mick Box (guitars), Ken Hensley (keyboards, guitars, Moog), Gary Thain (bass), Lee Kerslake (drums, percussion).
